How to create a prospect search?
Learn how to create a Saved Search in Listed for your clients and save it to their Saved Searches
How to do it
Follow the steps below to discover how to create a prospect search for a client in Listed, and how to revisit the prospect search later, as well as other pro tips.
The process takes around 30 seconds.
1. Go to the Browse Map
Tap Browse at the bottom of the screen, then tap Map to switch to the map view.
2. Set filters
Identify the search criteria your client needs, then set the filters accordingly.
In this example, the agent tapped Filter to open the Filter page. Next, the agent scrolled through various filter options that Listed offers. Then, he set filters for status, transaction type, property type, ownership type, and price to satisfy a client’s need to find a ‘For Sale’ condo available in the market between $400,000 and $800,000.
Once the filters are set, tap Done to close the Filter page.
3. Draw a shape
On the Browse Map, pan and zoom to locate the geographic area you want to define for the prospect search. Tap Draw and use your finger to outline the desired area on the map.
In this example, the agent drew a shape around the Toronto waterfront area for the prospect search.
Next, tap Save.
4. Select ‘Client’
Tap Client, then tap Continue.
Note that if you don’t wish to create a prospect search for a client, but a Saved Search for yourself, tap Myself instead, then tap Continue.
5. Select the client prospect
Identify the client prospect for your search from the list, or use the search bar to quickly find their name.
Then, tap the client’s name. A new page appears and confirms you are creating a prospect search specifically for them.
In this example, the agent is creating a prospect search for his client Justine Mora.
6. Name the search
Type a descriptive name for your prospect search.
In this example, the agent named it Waterfront Condos $400-800k to indicate to his client Justine Mora that it is a search for ‘For Sale’ condo available in the market that is between $400,000 and $800,000 in the waterfront area.
7. Tap Create and check result
Finally, tap Create to finish creating the prospect search for your client.
You would be prompted by a banner at the top of the screen that the search has been created successfully, and where your client prospect could find it. Tap the banner to see the search details.
🎉 Take a moment to let your client know that you’ve gone the extra mile to help them find their perfect home with a customized Prospect Search. Your client will receive alerts from Listed whenever new listings match their search criteria.
Pro tips
1. Create a curated list from the search
Tap to discover how creating and sharing a curated list of listings from a search can help boost your business - whether it’s with a listing agent to collaborate or with a client you’re helping find their perfect home.
2. Oops resistant!
Listed is designed with your needs in mind. As the agent, you can easily rename or delete a prospect search at any time - whether it’s to fix a typo in the search name, or to delete and recreate the search with the correct filter criteria if something was missed.
Your client does not receive an alert when the search is created. We want to help you ensure they’re only notified about what truly matters: new listings that match their home-hunt criteria.
3. Where to revisit a prospect search
A prospect search is in your client’s Saved Searches, not in yours (unless you’ve saved it for yourself).
To access it, go to the Me tab and tap Clients. Tap on a client to view their Saved Searches, which include both prospect searches you’ve created and searches the client has created themselves.
Clients can access their Saved Searches via the Lists tab.
4. Making changes to a prospect search
Please note: Prospect searches cannot be edited directly. To make changes, you must delete the existing search and create a new one.
To make changes to a prospect search beyond renaming it, you’ll need to:
- Run the search
- Update the filters if needed
- Draw a new shape if needed
- Save it as a new prospect search.
- If needed, navigate back to the client’s Saved Searches, and tap the three-dot button next to the old prospect search to delete it.
Did you know?
On iOS, you can also swipe left on a search to delete it.
5. Identify a prospect search vs a client’s own search
You can identify a prospect search by checking if the options to rename or delete it are available.
Tap the three-dot button next to the search to view these options. If they are active (coloured), the search is a prospect search. If they are greyed out, it’s the client’s own Saved Search, and only the client can rename or delete it.
