How can we help?

How to create a Saved Search for Broker List® listings.

Create a search in your desired area with the MLS® feed type turned off and the Broker List® feed type turned on as filters.

Two methods

  • Method One: Draw a boundary on the map with your finger by tapping the pencil (image one) in the upper right hand portion of the map and then tapping Save.
    • Keep the default filters and just turn off MLS - by tapping it to make it not filled in with solid purple.
    • The only filters you want “on” are: For Sale, Available, & Broker List® (leave the rest of the filters on the default. You want the most general settings.
    • Then from the upper right portion of the map tap Save and
    • Give your search a name and it’s saved!
    • You’ll find it by tapping in the search bar at the top of your screen to “Got to Saved Searches” or by going to the “Lists” tab located next to Me at the bottom of your phone .
    • Go to a more detailed section of this article here.

  • Method Two: Tap Save without drawing a shape (image two) in the upper right hand portion of the map and a rectangular shape boundary will be created for you.
On the Browse tab, using the map view, tap “Draw” to create a drawn shape for your search or tap “Save” to save the whole area displayed on your screen for your search.

There are two ways to create a Saved Search. You can draw an area on the map with your finger or use a geographical area to create a search (a location such as a park or neighbourhood).
Preferred method It’s best to draw a custom shape to be more precise and avoid alerts for listings in areas you or your clients aren’t interested in. For example, draw a shape on the map to exclude a busy road if you look for a family house with a backyard for young children.

Method One: Create a Saved Search by drawing an area

Start by finding the location. In this case, the search bar was tapped, “Toronto” was searched and the first location result was tapped. (1 of 4 images)

On the Browse tab, using the map view, look up for an area of your choice using the search bar at the top of your screen or move on the map using your fingers.

Apply the filters to only receive results for Broker List® listings. In this case, the “Filter” button was tapped, then the “MLS®” filter was tapped to be turned off (it becomes outlined instead of filled). Then tap “Done” to apply filters. (2 of 4 images)

When done, tap “Filter” on the top left of your screen and tap “MLS®” to turn it off (it should be outlined) and keep “Broker List®” on (it should be filled). You will notice that the pins on the map for MLS® listings have disappeared.
👉
Optional You can also apply other filters of your choice, such as “For Sale” and “For Lease”. The most important is to keep “MLS®” off to not receive alerts for properties that aren’t Coming Soon or Exclusive listings.
Create a drawn shape. To cover a bigger area, the map was zoomed out, then the “Draw” button was tapped on the top right corner of the map. With a finger held on the screen, a custom shape was drawn. (3 of 4 images)

User your fingers to zoom in or zoom out. For example, you can pinch two fingers on the map to have a wider search in Toronto, then to create a custom shape, tap “Draw” on the top right corner of the map and start drawing a shape using your finger tip while holding it on the screen. When you release your finger tip from the screen, the shape will appear on your screen.

Save the search. The “Save” button was tapped on the top right corner of the map. A name was entered and “Create” was tapped. (4 of 4 images)

Fine-tune search areas
Drawing a shape with your finger rather than saving a whole area allows you to be more specific and exclude a busy road or include a specific neighbourhood if your clients look for a family house.

Less is more Draw a shape around a single building to not miss any listing while avoiding irrelevant alerts to interrupt your workflow.

Method Two Create a Saved Search by saving an area

This creates a search area of the size of the map shown on the screen. For a more precise area, draw a shape instead. (See above).
Start by finding the location. In this case, the search bar was tapped, “Toronto” was searched and the first location result was tapped. (1 of 3 images)

Benefits

Fast and easy It’s the fastest way to create a search.

More is better In some cases, you may want to create a wide search to get as many listings as possible. You could create a search for a whole city for example. Please note that if the area was too big to be saved, an alert may appear on your screen when attempting to save it.

Receive Broker List® listings from other brokerages When you create a Saved Search with Broker List® as a filter, other agents with Exclusive or Coming Soon listings will be suggested to send it to you in a direct one-to-one communication.

In this example, an agent received an alert for a Coming Soon listing matching a Saved Search because it entered its public marketing period. On the listing card, “Days to market: 3” indicates that the listing will expire and go to the MLS® in 3 days.
